Bestanden

For iPhone and Android · 7 days of Pro free

Pass German B1.
With a plan all the way to exam day.

Pick your exam and your date. The app tells you exactly what to listen to, read, write and say every day — and an AI examiner trains you for the speaking test.

Free for iPhone and Android.

Too many tips. No plan.

Ask “how do I reach B1?” and you get a list:

All true — but what exactly do you do today? And is it enough before your exam date? That is what the app answers.

How it works

  1. 1

    Placement test in 10 minutes

A short test with listening, reading and one speaking task. You find out where you are: A1, A2 or almost B1.

  2. 2

    Pick your exam and date

DTZ, telc B1 or Goethe B1 — and when. You see right away how many minutes a day you need (e.g. 8, 12 or 16 weeks).

  3. 3

    A clear list every day

Today: 10 min listening, 1 writing task, 5 min speaking, 20 words. Everything inside the app, no hunting for material. Rest days stay free.

  4. 4

Mock exams that adjust the plan

A mock exam in the real format every few weeks. Whatever is not solid yet goes back into your plan — until you are ready.

The speaking test — part by part

This is where many people fall short: in the 2024 DTZ, 44% did not reach B1. So the app trains exactly these three parts:

Part 1 · Introduce yourself

Name, family, work, where you live — plus the examiner’s follow-up questions.

Part 2 · Talk about experiences

Describe a picture and talk about yourself (DTZ/telc), or give a short presentation (Goethe).

Part 3 · Plan something together

Suggest, agree, disagree, decide. The AI plays your exam partner.

What is inside

AI speaking examiner

The examiner asks with a real voice, you answer out loud. You get a level estimate (A2 / B1), a corrected version and better phrases.

Writing with corrections

Emails and letters like in the exam. Instant mistakes, explanations and a B1 model answer.

Listening and reading in exam format

Tasks at your level that get a bit harder every week.

Vocabulary that sticks

The words that show up in B1 exams — repeated at the right intervals.

Reminders

One message when today’s tasks are waiting. No more, no less.

Explanations in your language

German content; the app itself in English, Arabic or Ukrainian.

FAQ

Is there an iPhone version?

Yes. Bestanden is on the App Store for iPhone and on Google Play for Android.

What does it cost?

The placement test, the daily plan and listening, reading and vocabulary practice are free. Pro (AI examiner, writing correction, mock exams) is free for 7 days, then from €6.99 a month or €16.99 for 3 months. Cancel any time.

Can I start at A1?

Yes, your plan will just be longer. The app fits best if you are already A2 and have an exam date.

Is this an official app?

No. We are not connected to telc, the Goethe-Institut or the BAMF. The tasks are our own practice in the exam format.
